Interfaith Understanding
In response to increasing challenges of understanding and respecting all religions, NCCJ has convened leaders from many faith traditions in an Interfaith Task Force to explore ways in which we can more effectively work together.
Our discussions center around ways in which we can collectively and individually be a voice of religious pluralism in our community and our state.
Initial meetings developed a mission statement for NCCJ's work:
The Interfaith Task Force will promote religious pluralism as a pillar of our democratic society through:
- Awareness and coordinated action
- Education
- Dialogue
- Advocacy
The Task Force has also written a position paper expressing its mission in more detail. If you would like to lend your support to the position paper, please print out the consent form, sign it, and fax or mail it to NCCJ.
