ACT
Want to make a difference at your school? The ACT Program could help.
See the students interviewed by WKYC-TV above, all of whom were trained by The Diversity Center's ACT program. Fairview Park High School's Mosaic Project formed an ACT team, and The Diversity Center's training gave the featured students the confidence and language to discuss diversity at their school.
The Diversity Center is in its fourth year of an exciting program: ACT-- Action and Awareness for Change Teams. These teams meet monthly with The Diversity Center to talk about different isms (racism, sexism, classism, ableism, etc) and get trained on how to lead discussions with other students about them. Student participants may have the opportunity to facilitate at Diversity Center workshops and events with other students and schools. Teams will also meet to plan events for their school and tackle the issues that are most important in their community.
